Description
An ancient Roman marble dust sculpture, a bust of goddess Athena or Minerva. Likely after a Greek 5th or 4th century BC original. With centrally parted wavy hair and wearing a Corinthian-type helmet pushed back over the forehead. Damage to nose and other parts. Mounted on a later gray stone base. Provenance: purchased at auction in September 2023, Vienna, Austria. Archeological Finds And Relics, Collectible Sculpture.
