Charles E. Willette, American, 1899 to 1979, oil on board painting. A view of a burnt forest. Signed in the lower left. Undated. Framed. Charles Willette studied at the Art Students League in NYC in the mid-1930s with Raphael Soyer, Morris Cantor, and Robert Brackman. He was the chief commercial artist for the Whelan Drug Company in NYC. Later he lived in Maine where he was an active member of the Waldo Maine County Artists.
