Oil on canvas Signed lower right “Ram K 93” Inscribed on the reverse “RK 93” Framed Painted in 1993, this work dates from Ram Kumar’s mature abstract period, when the artist had fully abandoned figurative representation in favour of a deeply personal, landscape-derived abstraction. Broad, expressive brushstrokes in earthy ochres, olive greens, turquoise blues and muted whites create a layered and rhythmically balanced composition, characteristic of Kumar’s work from the early 1990s. The painting reflects the artist’s sustained engagement with memory, space and the Indian landscape, translated into an abstract visual language rather than literal depiction.
