Set of Three Chinese Porcelain Mandarin Figures (Officials)
Late Qing dynasty, most plausibly Guangxu period (1875–1908).
These figures represent civil officials (Mandarins) in formal court dress, distinguished by their rank badges on the chest and backs, conical court hats, and elongated robes. The polychrome palette (yellow, red, and blue robes) with famille-verte type enamels is consistent with export and domestic decorative figures produced in the Guangxu period.
Key Observations
Form & Dress: Tall, cylindrical standing figures with square bases; braided queues down the back; hands holding attributes (tablet/scroll).
Decoration: Bright overglaze enamels with floral and wave borders; circular rank badges front and back.
Bases & Marks: Each has a vent hole and stamped/applied seal-style mark to the base (decorative/auspicious rather than a precise reign mark, typical for figural wares).
Production: Likely workshop-made sets intended as interior display rather than ritual pieces.
