Description

Features a gilded brass guard, with a nice folding half guard. Floral design to guard pommel and quillion, plain D knuckle guard with floral embellishment to pommel joint. Gilt wire twist handle binding in very fine condition. The spear point blade shows good etchings of foliate patterns with slightly worn Imperial Prussian crowned eagle, military drum, sword & flag center pieces. Maker marked Ewald Cleff Solingen/Germany. The leather scabbard is in very fine condition, with plain dress upper and lower mounts showing remnants of original gilt work. Circa: 1890.
