Inscribed in pencil lower left. Hugh Kepets was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1946 and received Fine Arts degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and Ohio University. Kepets is an artist intrigued by fragmented views of reality. Concentration on subjects like architecture and still life, he makes reality seem magical in his precise and patterned close-ups and sharply cropped compositions.
