A vintage framed Polynesian barkcloth panel. Barkcloth is a traditional Polynesian type of textile manufactured by women from the paper mulberry tree. Barkcloth is still employed in every aspect of daily and ceremonial life of Samoa, where the material is known as siapo. This lot is a siapo with a composite geometrical relief.
