Description

A set of three original Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblock prints depicting a Kabuki theater scene with fighting samurais. The artwork is made by Toyohara Kunichika, Japanese, 1835 to 1900. Toyohara Kunichika was a ukiyo-e Japanese woodblock print artist. Talented as a child, at about thirteen he became a student of leading print maker, Utagawa Kunisada. His deep appreciation and knowledge of kabuki drama led to his production primarily of yakusha-e, which are woodblock prints of kabuki actors and scenes from popular plays of the time. Condition
Overall good vintage condition. Signs of age and wear. Yellowing, scuffs, damage at edges and corners. Refer to photos. Sold As Is.
