An antique Russian hand painted porcelain figurine by the Gardner Factory. The figurine is made at a high level, naturally painted. The figurine depicts a sitting peasant man holding a Balalaika in a traditional costume. Circa: late 19th century. Marked in red ink, Gardner Factory in Moscow, under the coat of arms, imprinted, Gardner, numbered in red 12, under the base. The famous Gardner factory was considered the best porcelain enterprise of the Russian Empire. Similar figurines depicting peasant life were very popular in the 19th century.
