Description

Set of four 4 porcelain diner plates in blue and white glazed design and finish with lucky longevity symbols like crane birds and bamboo trees. Antique 19th Century Peasant Ware porcelain exports from South China sea area in an Imari Arita Hizen style. There's a point where similar styles of Japanese and Chinese ceramics are hard to tell apart, as they sometimes made things to export to each other, trying to match the other country's taste. There is a possibility that it was made by an illiterate person, which is very often seen in pottery from southern China, the so-called "peasant ware."
