Description

An antique Japanese, late Meiji period, silver wire enamel vase. The vase has an amphora shaped body and a fluted neck. The ware is enameled with a polychrome image of wisteria and chrysanthemum blossoming flowers and trees on the black ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The base of the vase is adorned with a polychrome foliage motif made in the same technique. Unmarked. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century.
