An original American Barking Dog Cigarettes lithographic advertising sign. The sign depicts a pack of cigarettes with an image of a dog and a price. Barking Dog cigarettes were originally produced by the Barkmahn Cigarette Company of New York City, beginning in the mid-1910s. The company was acquired by Philip Morris Companies Inc. by 1927, who continued its manufacture for a time.
