Alexander Archipenko, Ukrainian American, 1887 to 1964, bronze avant garde sculpture depicting a woman combing her hair. Signed to the round base and dated 1914, numbered 819. Alexander Porfyrovych Archipenko was an artist, sculptor, and graphic artist, active in France and the United States. He was one of the first to apply the principles of Cubism to architecture.
