An antique Russian Orthodox hand painted icon of the Resurrection of Christ. An oil painting on canvas. Titled in Church Slavonic the upper part. The icon depicts Christ emerging from the burial cave. He holds in his hands the banner of victory over death. A cross is inscribed on the banner, usually red. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. Religious Christian Collectibles, Russian Icons.
