An antique 19th century Russian Orthodox icon of Archangel Michael. The Archangel is depicted as a warlord and an angel of the Apocalypse on a winged horse. Hand-painted in egg tempera, gold leaf and gesso on a wood panel. Archangel Michael is an archangel in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
