Lot 54 - ANTIQUE NUDE ACRYLIC PAINTING SIGNED BY THE ARTIST

An antique Western European or American, acrylic painting on canvas depicting a semi nude portrait of a reclining female figure depicted nearly nude in the 19th Orientalist manner as though lounging in a harem. The figure lays on her side atop floor pillows and lavishly piled fabrics. Her chest is exposed, and her hair pulled back revealing an alluring visage as she gazes at the viewer. Loose strokes of midnight blue and whites comprise her surroundings, appearing almost as water. A coiled object, perhaps a hookah, is placed in the foreground. Illegibly signed and inscribed, To Henny Wesley, lower left. Circa: late 19th century. One of a kind artwork.
