Description

An antique Chinese Tang Dynasty hand painted cast metal statue. The statue depicts Shakyamuni Buddha in a meditative posture, seated on a double lotus petal pedestal base. The statue is framed by an arched mandorla featuring swirling flames. The pedestal is adorned with hand painted images of Buddha. Circa: 7th century to early 9th century.
