Evariste Gustave De Buck, Belgian, 1892 to 1974, oil painting on canvas, Har sur Lesse, 1938, depicting a landscape. Signed, titled, and dated, lower left. Framed. Shapiro Auctions, Mamaroneck, NY, United States, October 21, 2023, lot 241. Evarist De Buck was a Belgian artist. He first stayed in Latem from 1916 to 1918. The style of the works from this period is modern and personal, the use of color is rich and luminous, the brushstroke is strongly pointillist. In the same year his well known paintings Ravotters aan de Leie and Waterpret bij de Tempelhoeve were created. One of a kind artwork.
