The portraits depict Shah Jahan, the fifth Mughal Emperor, and his wife, Empress Mumtaz Mahal, the woman for whom the Taj Mahal was constructed as a tomb. They are depicted in finery and an elaborated headdress, holding a hand fan. Presented in an oval frame with a fitting ring, on the top.
