A fine Russian matchbox holder made of gilded silver, the upper part is adorned with pale blue guilloche enamel and hand painted with floral motifs, also adorned with an overlay depicting a red enameled Maltese cross with a Russian Imperial double headed eagle set with gemstones, presumably diamonds and other stones, and bearing crossed swords behind it.
