Description

An antique Japanese, Meiji era, enamel plate. The interior of the plate is adorned with a polychrome enamel image of a butterfly in blossoming flowers on the turquoise ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The borders are decorated with a foliate scroll pattern made in the same technique. The backside is decorated with a floral ornament on the blue ground made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked.
