Samurai imagery in nautical scenery, sculpted white dragon motif. Fine detail work. Shimazu family crest is included in the base decor. Dai Nippon hallmark on the bottom. Satsuma ware is a type of Japanese pottery which originated in Satsuma Province, since the 19th century it was mainly produced for Western export and therefore elaborately decorated.
