A vintage hand carved wooden head from the Fang people from Gabon, Central Africa. The mask is dark brown in color and has a heart shaped concave face with a large convex forehead, characteristic of the region. Comes with a rectangular shaped stand. The wooden heads of Fang are often associated with wealth and social power. Throughout Gabon, these figurines serve as talismans or guardians to protect the remains of ancestors.
