Watercolor on paper painting. British, mid to late 19th century. The artwork depicts cavalry descending from the baked hill. Titled underneath, Madras Horse Artillery in Marchery Order. Unsigned. Cardboard mat, golden frame. The Madras Army was the army of the Presidency of Madras, one of the three presidencies of British India within the British Empire. It was active from 1757 to 1895.
