Description
A vintage Chinese hand carved Shoushan stone sculpture of a Phoenix bird, engraved with detailed patterns. Mounted on a carved wooden stand. Circa: the first half of the 20th century. Presented in a box with a clasp. Shoushan stone carving is an art originating in Fujian Province in East China. The stones used in carving are also known as agalmatolite and are mined in the Shoushan village in northern Fujian.
