An antique Russian Orthodox hand painted icon of Saint Stylianos, Stylian in English and Stylianus in Latin, also known as Stylianos the Hermit, depicted holding a swaddled infant, a traditional symbol of his iconography. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. The icon is overlaid with a silver tone oklad or riza, adorned with chased and engraved detailed patterns.
