A vintage Indonesian ceremonial wrapper, known as a pua, hails from the Savu Islands of eastern Indonesia and showcases the intricate artistry of hand-woven cotton in a plain weave. The resist-dyed warp, or ikat technique, creates delicate motifs in somber tones, subtly accented with touches of rusty red. Circa the early mid 20th century.
