Description

An antique Japanese, early Meiji era, Translucent enamel over gilt copper vases. The exterior of the ware is adorned with polychrome enamel medallions representing blossoming flowers, plants, and birds seated on tree branches surrounded by floral, foliate scroll, and butterfly wings ornaments made in the Cloisonne technique. The neck and the base are decorated with polychrome panels featuring scaly, floral, and geometrical patterns made in the same technique. Circa: 1868 to 1877. Unmarked.
