Description

A vintage, 20th century, Eskimo Inuit hand carved soapstone figurine by Silasie Si, First Nations, Broughton Iskand, Qikiqtarjuaq. It depicts a seated man, signed on the bottom: SILASIE 111451. Silasie, 1937, E6 297, is a recognized master sculptor. Most often, he depicts people in squatting, bending over poses. The eyes usually have large unpolished whites with a darker pupil.
