Description
A limited edition gilt bronze sculpture, La Musa, by Giorgio de Chirico, 1974. The Muse is made in the form of an upright figure in the tunic of ancient Rome with a conventionally designated face with round eyes on an oval head. At the muses feet lies a fragment of a column, reminiscent of the folds of her robe. This designation of the female figure is very characteristic of Chiricos work. Marked on the rectangular base G de Chirico, Fonderia Cavallari Roma, and numbered 5 of 8.
