Edgar Degas, French, 1834 to 1917, dressed bronze sculpture of a young dancer. Signed, E. Degas, on a wooden base. This exquisite sculpture captures the essence of Degas masterful portrayal of movement and grace. Provenance: from a collector from Polish city of Zakopane, who bought it at an antique fair in the 1960s. Edgar Degas was a French Impressionist artist famous for his pastel drawings and oil paintings. Degas also produced bronze sculptures, prints, and drawings. French Sculptures And Art Collectibles.
