Chia Yu Chian, Malaysian, 1936 to 1991, oil painting on board depicting a marine scene with boats. Signed by the artist and dated 1961 lower right. Framed. Chia Yu Chian graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, and went on to become the first artist from the Straits Settlements to receive a scholarship from the French government, advancing his Fine Art training at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts de Paris.
