An antique Russian Orthodox hand painted icon of the Mother of God, known as the Theotokos of Vladimir. The icon depicts the Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child in her arms. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. The Theotokos of Vladimir icon is one of the most iconic and venerated images in Russian Orthodoxy.
