A vintage Chinese hand carved corner armchair in the Chinoiserie style. Circa: the first half of the 20th century. Made of solid mahogany and decorated with exquisite carved trim on the backs. In European interiors of the 18th and 19th centuries, this form of armchair was quite popular in offices and libraries, the sitter could take notes and communicate at the same time, turning towards the interlocutor, without moving the chair itself. The back of the chair is symmetrically decorated with elegant carved trim with bonsai trees in pots. A square form seat with rounded edges are turned like a rhombus.
