Krishtopenko Vladimir (1930 - 2004). Roofs of Batum. Paper / Watercolor. Signed and dated 1967. Krishtopenko Vladimir Vasilievich was born on September 12, 1930 in the city of Senno, Vitebsk region (Belarus). Painter, graphic artist, master of book illustration, art historian and critic, poet. Since 1938 in Odessa, then war and evacuation, in 1945 return to Odessa. In 1947-1952 studied at the Russian department of the Faculty of Philology of Odessa State University. I.I. Mechnikov. After completing his studies, he went to Armenia for 2 years (to meet M.S. Saryan). In 1954-1957 studied at the painting department of the Odessa Art University (Lukacher T.E., Mutselmacher M.D.). In 1957-1967 worked as a senior researcher at the Odessa Art Museum. In 1966, he taught art history at the art and graphic department of the Odessa State Pedagogical Institute named after. K.D. Ushinsky. In 1968-1989 worked as a teacher of the history of fine arts and special disciplines at the design department at the State University of Art and Culture named after. M.B.Grekova. Since 1990, after retirement, he was able to devote himself entirely to creativity. In 2001, a personal exhibition of the artist was held in the exhibition hall of the Odessa regional branch of the National Agricultural University, where more than 100 paintings and graphic works were exhibited. Since 2000, 5 personal exhibitions have been held in Odessa.Vladimir Krishtopenko died on November 20, 2004 in Odessa.
