The exterior of the egg is covered with white glaze adorned with a latticework pattern in gold, encircling a central gold monogram of Empress Maria Feodorovna, 1847 to 1928. The monogram is elegantly detailed and surmounted by a small crown. The egg is further embellished with gold leaf like motifs at the periphery of the monogram.
