A Russian Soviet Marshal parade uniform, dating from the early 1940s. The dark green jacket features a red collar with a gold star and wreath embellishment, as well as gilt buttons. Red and gold insignia on the sleeves denotes the rank of Marshal of the Soviet Union. The rank of Marshal of the Soviet Union was introduced in 1935. The first to receive it were Peoples Commissar Voroshilov, Commander of the Far Eastern Military District Blucher, 1st Deputy People’s Commissar of Defense Tukhachevsky, Chief of the General Staff Yegorov, and Cavalry Inspector Budyonny.
